Rescue Me ID: 16-10-20-00384Cowboy (male)
Sweet Cowboy has had a hard life. Cowboy is only 4 years old. He weighs around 45 pounds. Cowboy had an eye condition that required the removal of his eye. He is otherwise healthy and happy. Because he had so many people prodding and medicating his eye, he is a little sensitive to people forcing themselves on him and restraining him. He will get better with time, as no one is bothering his eye any longer. Cowboy is a great dog for hiking, camping, snuggling on the sofa. Cowboy is not a needy dog, he is happy to watch Animal Planet while you are away. Cowboy is living in a foster home in South East Arizona, his foster mom makes frequent trips to Tucson and occasional trips to Phoenix. Please come meet this wonderful boy. 602-316-8919 (no texts pleas (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-17-00030Molly (female)
This is Molly- Molly was rescued as a very young puppy at 8 weeks old. She is very lovable to people and dogs that she has known for awhile, but has aggressive issues with new people and dogs that she meets. She always acts as 'secret service' to try and protect everyone she is with, but it is in a very aggressive way. She went to a 30 day dog bootcamp where she stayed with a trainer the whole time. When she returned back home, Molly definitely improved in some ways - but her aggression didn't improve. Molly needs a good home with a yard to run around in. I live in an apartment and she gets good exercise but needs more than just a small living area. She knows basic commands, is up to date with all of her shots and fixed. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-07-02-00365Noodle (male)
This 3 year handsome boy was saved from the AZ Humane Society's euthanasia list after a long battle with deep dermatitis. He was in horrid shape when he was first rescued. His body was covered in a thick crust on his head, neck and abdomen, and consequently Noodle endured many months of peroxide baths. It's not surprising that he escaped with a few battle wounds, but he has come such a long way! His coat is almost entirely filled in. This 42 lb boy is as quirky and lovable as they come! Noodle is not good with cats or small dogs, but might be OK with another larger dog in his forever home. He's still a bit anxious from time to time due to his past, so the hustle and bustle of a busy house with small children is not really his style. We feel he would do best as either a single dog, or with elementary school aged children and possibly one other larger dog, in a routine environment. It can sometimes take a little for Noodle to trust new people, but he is a loving pup that enjoys lying on your lap and is an absolute ham for attention. He is innately very sweet. Noodle is active and enjoys life! He likes to stretch his legs regularly, either in a yard or on a long walks, hiking, and even jogging next to a bicycle. But, he is not quite ready for a dog park. He also loves to sunbathe, pounce in baby pools, watch TV, and soak up the breeze on a car ride. He will sit, come, and shake like a champ for a treat, and is currently working on lying down. Noodle likes to feel safe and always enjoys a good hug, especially during rainstorms. He will give kisses on command with his spotty tongue and greet you joyfully when you come home, often with ear nibbles. He is both kennel and doggie-door trained. It's time for Noodle to go a forever home that will continue to spoil him with couch time and love. If you are interested in giving our boy a loving home, ($200 adoption donation), please fill out our application:http://www.povertyspets.org/availableanimals/adoptionform.html and we will get back to you upon receipt. |Rescue Me ID: 15-07-11-00242Daisy Mae (female)|
Daisy Mae is just a love - playful, sweet, nurturing. She is approximately 3 years old. Daisy Mae and her newborn puppies were taken in by 2nd Chance Dog Rescue on an emergency basis. Daisy Mae and another dog, Carousel were rescued from a neglect situation - both dogs were living outside with no shelter, and Daisy Mae had just given birth to a litter, while Carousel was very pregnant. We rescued them and Carousel then gave birth to her pups the next day! Daisy Mae and Carousel are extremely bonded and we would love to see them go to a home together. If you could find it in your heart to give this girl the forever home she deserves, please fill out an Adoption Consultation form and we will be in touch. http://2ndchance.rescuegroups.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=7982891 (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-01-22-00632Brooke (female)
Brooke has been in foster care nearly 3 years because she needs to be an only dog. She is afraid of smaller dogs and when they come near her to sniff around she reacts inappropriately. She has never hurt another pup but she does not welcome others in her personal space. She is kennel trained and house trained. She is about 5 years old and does require grain free diet due to allergies. She loves to have her ears scratched and with those tall pointy kelpie ears its probably the cutest thing to witness. She is a semi active dog with muscles for days. Long walks or hikes would be ideal for her routine. She attends most events and is waiting to meet you soon. (Less)

Australian Kelpie Dogs can make good pets in Arizona if they match your IifestyIe. Australian Kelpies are intelligent working dogs with strong herding abilities. Kelpies are ill suited to apartment life, thriving on farms or in large yards. Kelpies are happy living mostly outdoors with access to some kind of basic shelter. A Kelpie can bore easily and become destructive if it does not have a task to accomplish. Australian Kelpies will try to herd other pets, much to their dismay at times.
